Collection: Collars

A Collar Designed with Your Italian Greyhound in Mind

Crafted in the UK from the softest Italian Dollaro embossed leather, this collar is handpicked and thoughtfully designed specifically for Italian Greyhounds. The flexible yet durable double-sided leather provides a luxuriously smooth and comfortable fit, sitting gently against your Iggy's delicate neck.

Unlike many collars that are bulky, stiff, or ill-fitting, ours is carefully thinned where the leather folds around the solid brass buckle and D-ring, ensuring a sleek, breed-appropriate design. The result? A lightweight, elegant fit without the discomfort.

This collar was born out of necessity—I designed it for my own fabulous Iggy, Greg, after struggling to find a collar that wasn’t too big, too rigid, or, worst of all, abrasive against his sensitive skin. After countless failed attempts with other designs that caused chafing sores and discomfort, I set out to create a collar that is as gentle and refined as the breed itself.

With comfort, style, and function in mind, this lovingly crafted collar is the perfect fit for your graceful Italian Greyhound.

Made with love and care in the UK.

Caring for a leather dog collar is important to maintain its durability and appearance. Here are some tips:

1. Regular Cleaning

  • Wipe Down: Regularly wipe the collar with a damp cloth to remove dirt, sweat, and oils.
  • Mild Soap: If the collar is particularly dirty, use a small amount of mild soap (like a gentle hand soap or specialized leather cleaner) on a damp cloth, then wipe it down. Avoid soaking the collar.

2. Avoid Water Exposure

  • Keep Dry: Leather is sensitive to water, which can cause it to shrink, warp, or crack. Remove the collar if your dog is swimming or bathing.
  • Drying: If the collar does get wet, blot it dry with a towel and let it air dry at room temperature, away from direct heat sources like radiators or sunlight, which can dry out and damage the leather.

3. Conditioning

  • Leather Conditioner: Apply a leather conditioner every few months to keep the leather soft and supple. This helps prevent drying and cracking. Be sure to choose a conditioner suitable for the type of leather used in the collar.

4. Storage

  • Cool, Dry Place: Store the collar in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid storing it in plastic, which can trap moisture and cause mildew.

5. Check for Wear

  • Inspect Regularly: Regularly check the collar for signs of wear and tear, such as cracks, weak spots, or loose stitching, to ensure it remains safe and comfortable for your dog.

6. Avoid Chemicals

  • No Harsh Chemicals: Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners on leather, as they can damage the material and strip its natural oils.

By following these care guidelines, you can keep your leather dog collar in great condition, ensuring it lasts longer and looks better over time.
